Programme Overview

Rugby School Short Courses adopt an integrated academic approach that combines subject learning with English language development. Through close collaboration between subject teachers and EAL specialists, students experience traditional subjects such as History, Economics, and Physics taught in English while simultaneously developing their English proficiency. Students are pre-tested and streamed by language level, and lessons are delivered ensure accessibility and comprehension. Small class sizes, bilingual milestone notes, comprehension checks, and structured post-lesson tutorials collectively reinforce understanding and support effective learning outcomes.

At Worldschooling, we believe in learning through connection. Our curriculum is designed to spark lively discussions, developing essential life skills like collaboration and intercultural communication as students actively practice and enhance their language abilities.

Module 1: Integrated Academic & English Learning

Academic Taster Sessions: Students experience traditional subjects such as History, Economics and Physics, taught in English while simultaneously supporting the learning of English through integrated language scaffolding.

Learning Support Measures Include:The programme features streamed small classes of up to 12 students, integrated translated “Milestone” summary notes, mini L1 breakout sessions with comprehension-check quizzes, and post-lesson tutorials within Private Study blocks to reinforce understanding and close the learning loop.

Module 2: Personal development sessions

Through a bespoke series of Life Education sessions inspired by Rugby School’s Floreat programme, students explore key themes such as:

Daily afternoon activities and sports sessions.

4 x Futures Advisory sessions delivered by Rugby School Futures department with input from University of Warwick

Module 4: Excursion

A curated programme of immersive weekend experiences designed to extend learning beyond the classroom. Students explore iconic British cities, cultural landmarks, and historic destinations through structured academic visits and cultural enrichment activities.

Full-day Oxford excursion including a guided walking tour, college entrance visit, integrated academic enrichment, and dinner in Oxford with a late return to Rugby.

Late-start morning followed by pre-booked cultural excursion options such as Bletchley Park, Birmingham, or Stratford-upon-Avon.

Full-day London visit including a guided walking tour, entrance to Buckingham Palace, and dinner with a West End show experience.

What does the price include?

Our fees are largely all-inclusive, covering tuition, accommodation, three meals a day, all scheduled activities, and insurance. The main exclusions are flights, visa fees, and personal spending money.

Do you help with visas and airport transfers?

Yes. We provide all necessary documentation to support a Standard Visitor visa application and offer a fully supervised airport transfer service for peace of mind.

What is a typical day like?

Each day is a balanced blend of structured learning in the morning, cultural excursions or practical workshops in the afternoon, and supervised social activities in the evening.
